East Division Semi-Finals vs Ottawa

The JV Stamps took to the field on Sunday determined to continue the road to Kingston. After a slow start which saw the JV Stamps down 14-0 at the half, the team came out with a spark, showing that they were not ready to give up. The Stamps put up 17 unanswered points in the 3rd and start of the 4th quarter on a 11 yard TD run by LB/FB Zack Ihasz with a hand-off from QB Elijah Paulsen, a 17 yard FG by K/P Nico Gabriele and a 10 yard TD pass from QB Keagan Hall to SB Liam Keary. With just over a minute remaining in the 4th, the Sooners tied the score on a 20 yard FG, sending the game into OT. On the JV Stamps 1st OT possession, Hall found Keary on a 20 yard TD pass giving the Stamps the lead 17-24. The defensive team was determined that would be the final score and made 3 consecutive stops on the Sooners OT possession, sending the JV Stamps into the East Division Finals. Hall was 11/23 with 118 yards and 2 TDs, Paulsen went 1/3 and 5 yards and 1 INT. Keary lead the air game with 6 catches, 55 yards and 2 TDs followed by WR Zack Burmaster with 2 catches for 37 yards. Ground game was lead by RB Josh Munoz with 11 carries for 101 yards and Ihasz with 10 carries for 79yards and 1 TD. Gabriele was good on all 3 converts in addition to his FG. Ihasz also had a giant day on the other side of the ball with 10 total tackles and an onside kick which he returned for 19 yards. Next highest defensive point getter was DB Eric Faubert with 5 tackles and an interception. LB Justus Vasilakos McRae also came up big with a fumble recovery and an interception which he returned for 10 yards in addition to his 2 tackles. The defensive trench was lead by DT Jared Stewart with 4 tackles and DE Lucas Varga who recorded 1 solo tackle and 2 QB sacks for the Stamps. The JV Stamps will host the Cumberland Panthers at Corpus Christi HS on Sunday, July 30 at 3:00pm for the East Division Finals.

Week 9 Game 8 vs. Cambridge

The JV Stamps received their first loss of the season in the last regular season game against the Cambridge Lions. The 1st Place JV Stamps went scoreless in the first half with the Lions taking an early 21-0 lead. The 2nd half saw the JV Stamps come alive and rally to bring the score within 7 before the Lions scored another TD on a Pick 6 bringing the final score to 21-35. QB Elijah Paulsen lead the Stamps air attack going 10/16, 147 yards, 3 INTs and 3 TDs. Leading receiving targets were WR Reid Matthew with 6 catches for 99 yards and 1 TD, 5₵ Kenny Sproat with 5 for 47 yards, SB Liam Keary with 2 for 32 yards and 1 TD. RB Josh Munoz also scored on a 1 yard TD pass from Paulsen. Munoz was also the leading rusher for the Stamps with 9 carries for 65 yards. K/P Nico Gabriele was good on all 3 convert attempts. Defensive leaders were LB Luca Rosiello with 6 tackles and DB Eric Faubert with 4 tackles and a pass knockdown. DE Malik Boult had the lone Stamps sack of the game. The JV Stamps end the regular season with a record of 7-1 and will host the Ottawa Sooners at Corpus Christi HS on Saturday, July 22 at 3:00pm for the Eastern Divisional Semi-Finals.

Week 8 Game 7 vs Durham

Week 8 Game 7 Recap – vs Durham Dolphins

In their home away from home, Ron Joyce Stadium, the JV Stamps extended their regular season record to 7-0 with a 20-8 win over the visiting Durham Dolphins. With the only points in the 1st quarter coming from Durham conceding a safety to Burlington, the 2nd qtr saw QB Keagan Hall find WR Reid Matthew for a 21yd TD pass and 5₵ Kenny Sproat for the 2 pt conversion. K/P Nico Gabriele’s 14yd field goal brought the halftime score to 13-0 for the Stamps. Halfway through the 3rd qtr Hall found Sproat again for a 1yd TD pass which Gabriele converted bringing the score to 20-0. QB Hall went 15/30 and 158yds, 1 INT and the 2 TDs. RB Josh Munoz lead the ground game with 16 carries for 101 yards. Other than a late 4th qtr Durham TD, the Stamps defensive team stepped up to shut Durham out lead by DB Ethan Monaghan who had 2 tackles, a pass knockdown, an interception which he returned for 32 yards and a blocked punt, which was recovered by DL Sean Condon for a 4yd return. Also on fire was LB Zack Ihasz with 6 tackles, including a tackle for loss and the lone QB sack of the day. Rounding out the top 3 defensive point getters was RB Mackenzie Cameron who was filling in at DB with 3 tackles, a pass knockdown and an interception which he returned for 5 yards. LB Justus Vasilakos McRae also got an interception with a 13yd return which set the offense up with good field position. The JV Stamps have clinched 1st place in the JV East division and home field advantage going into playoffs on the road to Kington for the OPFL Championships. The Stamps are on a BYE week this week but return to Corpus Christi HS for their last regular season home game against the Cambridge Lions on Sunday, July 16 at 1:30pm
