    Week 3 Bumbling Stumbling Predictions
    Week 1 (7-6)
    Week 2(7-6)
    Total 14-12

    BANTAM SAT MAY 25 2019

    Durham @ Niagara, Kiwanis Field
Something has to give as the Dolphins’ and Spears are coming off big losses respectively. The Dolphins wing T vs the Spears pro-style offence sets up for one of these teams coming away with their first victory of the season.
The Spears home opener will be their opportunity to see where they are after their loss to the Ravens last week. The Dolphins scored in week one but were blanked last week by the Sooners . 2 games in the books for Durham and the Spears home opener says low scoring defensive game.
    Spears 13 - Dolphins 12

Ottawa @ Hamilton, Ron Joyce Stadium
Sooners Running back first 4 touches were touchdowns last weekend as the Sooners went on the road and ran over the Dolphins in their home opener. The Tiger Cats played much better in week 2, but once again struggled against the run. Ticats QB Jackson Taylor will have his hands full but with a passer 130 passing yards per game will try to keep this one close. Sooners on the road again keeps their motors running all the way back to the Nation’s capital at 2-0.
    Sooners 46 - Ticats 20

    Vaughn @Cambridge, Jacob Hespeler
The Bantam weekend closes out with The 2-0 Rebels heading into “The Jake” for a battle with the 1-1 Lions. Cambridge coming off a tough road loss to the Jr Stangs last week ,are looking to rebound vs the upstart Vaughn Rebels . The Rebels ground attack at the top of the League led by QB Anthony Lio who has 13 carries for 184 yards in 2 weeks with 4 rushing majors. Add a punt return for 80 yards and it’s easy to see why the Rebels have jumped out the gate 2-0 vs Durham and Hamilton. With Isaiah Higgins added to the mix who is flying high with 37 carries and 564 yards with 6 tds, and Vaughns ground and pound is the catalyst to this offence. Both teams have beat Hamilton but the Lions run defence is their strength despite an uncharacteristic performance against London. Coach Pahl from the lions at home vs Coach Lio from the Rebels under the lights at “The Jake“ it doesn’t get any better than this . It will take overtime, but the Lions win the track meet as their passing game gets them over the hump.
    Cambridge 31 - Rebels 25.

JV SATURDAY MAY 25 TH 2019

London @Mississauga, Loyola Catholic Secondary School
This one is a mismatch on paper. The Jr Stangs are 2-0 basically winning in all 3 phases the first 2 weeks. The Warriors were never close against Ottawa but played Burlington tough in week 1.  It’s the third home game for the Warriors and it has been a tough go early playing the top talent at Jv in back to back weeks. With an offence that is trying to find itself playing the swarming London defence will be a tough task.
    London 31 - Warriors 6

Ottawa @ Hamilton, Ron Joyce Stadium
This is the game of the week at JV. Both teams come in at 2-0 and with two convincing wins. The Sooners are explosive and balanced while Hamilton as the defending champions boast a talented Defence. The Ticats will rely on Donavin Millay who boasts a 10.9 avg rushing on offence. On the other hand, the Sooners Defence has been dominant and they will look to shut the Ticats Run game down which will put the ball into Evan Clarke’s hands Clarke is a winner but the Sooners will find a way on the road against the defending Jv Champs.
    Sooners 24 - Ticats 15.

    Kingston @Niagara, Kiwanis Field
The Jr Gaels come into Niagara at 0-2, the Spears are also 0–2 and both teams need a victory.  At QB the Gaels ate led by Caden Stopchycki who is 9-19 with 234 yards passing. The rushing attack is averaging 6.5 yards a carry. The Spears lost a heartbreaker week 1 to Vaughn 20-13 and in week 2 Niagara fell to the Ravens 35-18. It’s the Home Opener and we like Niagara in an entertaining contest over the Jr Gaels.
    Spears 28 - Jr Gaels 21

    Essex @ Burlington, Nelson Stadium
Ravens at Stampeders is a great way to kick off your Sunday afternoon in Burlington Ontario. The Stampeders Braden Tremblay who has 267 yards passing and 2 Td passes, in a 27-7 victory over Mississauga. After falling to London in week 1 the Ravens bounced back with a much-needed home victory 35-18 over the Spears. Burlington will attempt to throw the ball all over the field with Tremblay, but the Ravens Defence will gold in the Road. On offence look for Dylan Simpson and the Ravens to solve the Stamps D.
    Ravens 33 -Stamps 16

Durham @ Vaughn, St Joan of Arc Catholic High School
The 1-1 Rebels host the explosive Dolphins 1-0 in the JV finale game for week 3. The Dolphins are loaded on Offence and Defence. This is our pre-season pick at JV this year and they can score any way imaginable. DiMarino at QB for the Rebels with a two headed monster at running back with Miller and Daniels along with Luongo at receiver will beg to differ in this late afternoon classic. Conventional wisdom says take Durham and the experience and although Vaughn looks good early, we lean to the Dolphins’s with a victory over the Rebels.
    Dolphins 36 – Rebels 23

London @Mississauga, Loyola Catholic Secondary School
Upset alert, maybe. The Warriors have played this group of Jr Mustangs pretty tough over the years and won everyone at Bantam and JV vs this group. The Warriors coming off a 12-4 win over the Sooners last week at home.
The question is how do the Warriors slow the mustangs down, who are coming off a thrilling 34-31 win over the lions last Saturday night at Td Stadium in London. History says Warriors with the upset alert, but the London squad is running on 23 in a row since the OPFL has come into existence. Coleman and Lee at Linebacker with Nixon at Safety will allow the Stangs to neutralizes any upset .
    Jr Stangs 17 - Warriors 3

Ottawa @ Hamilton, Ron Joyce Stadium McMaster University
Both teams come in at 1-1. The Sooners have relied on defence in the first 2 weeks with both games bring low scoring. The Ticats are a Jekl and Hyde effect with a poor performance in week 1 and then a dominating victory over Guelph in week 2. With points at a premium the Sooners need to get the offence going or Hamilton at home May send them on long trip home to Ottawa on the 401 empty handed.
    Ticats 21 - Sooners 14

Durham @Guelph, Alumni Stadium University Of Guelph
The Dolphins fell to the Jr Gales 25-19 in 4th overtime last week leading into this pivotal varsity matchup. The Jr Gryphons are up against it here as a young team at Varsity. The Dolphins come into town as a talented group who play team defence. Guelph has a balanced attack but the Dolphins will come out on top.
    Durham 26 - Guelph 6

    Kingston @Niagara, Kiwanis Field
The Jr Gaels and Spears come in at 1-1 so this night cap on Saturday night provides a lot of excitement for the Varsity division. Both teams have balanced attacks and both teams play rock solid defence so we believe a big special teams play will provide momentum to the winning team. The Spears lost a heartbreaker in week 2 To the Ravens. This is the Home Opener for the Spears’s so that will be added motivation. The Jr Gaels and the traveling late on Saturday night will prove to come up short.
    Spears 19 - Jr Gales 17

    Essex @ Burlington, Nelson Stadium
The OPFL weekend concludes with a bang as the talented Ravens travel into Nelson stadium. Two low scoring games see the Varsity Ravens as a talented group who need to find a way to score points. QB Emmit Rosati comes in with 277 yards passing and 4 tds for the Ravens but it’s the run game the has Coach Mills pulling his hair out .
If you know anything about the Essex offence it has always been balanced with an emphasis at running power with success. So far not what we are used to from The Ravens. The Stampeders are very similar to the Ravens with their QB Evan Hillock who has 321 yards passing with 3 Td to 0 int. This should be a barn burner and look for the Ravens to pull out the road victory
    Essex 27 - Stamps 23

Have a great weekend of Pigskin and we will see you next week!
