Week 6 Game 5 @ Kingston

In their final regular season away game, the JV Stampeders increased their record to 5-0 with a 46-28 win over the Kingston Grenadiers. Keagan Hall lead the QB crew by completing 12/17, 198 yards and 3 TDs. QB Elijah Paulsen went 2/2 with 1 TD and QB Malik Henry went 1/2. On the other end of the air attack, SB Reid Matthew caught 4/121 yards and 2 TD, one each from Hall and Paulsen; 5¢ Kenny Sproat went 2/50 and 1 TD while WR Jack Merk caught 1 for a 7 yard TD. The ground campaign was lead once again by RB Josh Munoz with 13 carries for 102 yards, followed by RB Sito Berrio with 4 for 40 yards. QB Hall, rushed for a 1 yard QB sneak for the TD. K Nico Gabriele added to the scoreboard going 6/6 in converts and 1/3 in field goals (39 yards). The defensive pressure was lead by DB Ethan Monaghan with 4 solo, 2 assist tackles and 2 interceptions, which he returned for 68 yards and 12 yards; LB Zack Ihasz with a total of 7 solo tackles which included 2 tackles for loss and 3 special teams solos, as well as a pass knockdown; and DB Eric Faubert with 5 solos, which included 2 special teams tackles and 1 assist tackle and a pass knockdown. HB Owen Lacroix had a 35 yard pick six in the first defensive drive to put early points on the scoreboard. DB Quentin Reid had the 4th interception of the game which he returned for 20 yards. The JV Stampeders will finally play their first home game at Corpus Christi HS on Sunday, June 25 at 1:30pm against the visiting Ottawa Sooners.

Week 5 Game 4 @ Niagara

The JV Stampeders made their way down the QEW for business trip #4 against Niagara for a Friday Night Lights showdown. The Stamps came to get some work done and left accomplished with a 41-21 win over the Spears.  QB Keagan Hall bounced back from the week before and went 21/26, 295 yards, 1 INT and 1 TD. Josh Munoz lead the ground game with 10 carries for 63 yards and 2 TDs. Hall also added his own rushing TD on a 2 yard QB sneak. The air attack was lead by SB Liam Keary with 6 catches for 106 yards and 1 TD, followed by SB Kenny Sproat who also caught 6 for 64 and 1 TD. K/P Nico Gabriele went 2/2 on FG and 5/5 for converts. Defense had their share of stops lead by LB Zack Ihasz, with 4 solos, 1 tackle for loss and a blocked kick, and DB Ethan Monaghan with 2 solos, 1 assist, 1 special solo, 2 pass knockdowns and 1 pick six which was called back due to a sideline flag. Monaghan was credited with a 35 yard return to the point of the foul. The D-line trench was lead by Gabriel Coulombe with 3 solo and 1 special teams tackles. The lone sack for the day went to DL Nick Gilbert who also forced the fumble which was recovered by DL Max Prince. The JV Stampeders take their 4-0 record to Kingston on Saturday, June 17 for their final regular season business trip to face the Grenadiers before coming home for their final 3 games before the playoffs.

Week 4 Game 3 @ Mississauga

Once again, the JV Stampeders hit the road for business trip #2 against the Mississauga Warriors coming out with Win #3 with a score of 24-10. The Warriors took the first lead 0-7 early in the 1st quarter but the Stamps answered after marching the ball down the field ending with QB Keagan Hall passing to SB Liam Keary for a 15 yard TD. The Warriors took the lead once again in the 2nd quarter with a field goal but that would be the last score of the day for the Warriors. Stamps’ K Nico Gabriele answered with a 28 yard field goal of his own bringing the halftime score to an even 10-10. The 3rd quarter belonged to the Stamps with FB/LB Zack Ihasz scoring 2 rushing TDs and Gabriele making good on 2 more converts. RB Sito Berrio lead the team in rushing registering 60 yards for the day, followed by Ihasz with 35 yards. Also helping to move the sticks up the field were WR Eric Cabral, with 2 catches for 39 yards and SB Reid Matthew with 2 catches for 25 yards. The defensive campaign was lead by Ihasz with 3 solo tackles and 1 assisted tackle, 1 special teams solo, 1 QB sack, 1 pass knockdown and 1 interception which he returned for 10 yards. DB Eric Faubert also had a strong defensive game with 5 solo tackles and 1 tackle for loss. Rounding out the top 3 defensive point getters was DL Max Prince with 1 solo tackle, 2 special teams solo tackles and 2 tackles for loss. The JV Stamps will take their 3-0 record back on the road for business trip #3 in Niagara for a Friday Night Lights game at Kiwanis Field, June 9 at 7:30pm against the Spears.
