To the members of the OPFL,

I want to take this time to thank all of you for the great inaugural year for the OPFL. As the Premier season came to a close this afternoon it concludes our first season of 136 games. This saw many great games that were competitive, entertaining, and some very exciting finishes.

The season was not perfect however, as we did - and are - facing some challenges such as forfeits. The Executive is very much aware and are gathering the reasons for the decline in players over the last couple weeks. This issue is on our radar and discussion is already being had to brainstorm potential solutions for 2018. There is a list of pros and cons from our inaugural year, and this issue is most definitely on the list of kinks to work out for the 2018 season.

In regard to playoffs, I want to congratulate all the teams that will be continuing their season over the next few weeks. The Playoff Matchups and brackets can be found on our Facebook page.

Game times and locations will be available within the next 24-48 hours. Many of you already know your game information and I ask you to please start booking transportation. We are aware of a lack of busses available for this upcoming weekend but the clubs will need to find a way to get there. We ask that all OPFL membership be flexible and understanding of this issue which is out of our control and are willing to make alternative arrangements - even possibly carpooling. We appreciate your understanding with this matter and ask that you do not dwell on this and let it distract you from the game itself.

In closing, we are excited for the next 3 weeks of action and wish all of the playoff teams good luck. To the teams who are not moving on in the next few weeks, thank you for being a part of the inaugural season of the OPFL and we hope that you will follow the conclusion of the season through the various channels available.

Sincerely,

Bill Martindale

Executive Vice President
